Brigitte Grewe, 13, is in eighth grade at E. Russell Hicks Middle School. She’s a science and art nerd who aspires to become a medical professional.

Danielle Higgins, 16, is a senior at South Hagerstown High School. She is ready to just give up and start making her own clothes, her own music and her own TV shows.

Darcy Shull, 14, is a sophomore at North Hagerstown High School. She loves faeries and fantasy books and movies.

Dylan Thackston, 16, lives on a farm in Sharpsburg with his dog, two cats, and three ponies. He loves to write and play bass, which he has been playing for two and a half years.

Elina Mir, 13, is an eighth-grader at St. Mary School in Hagerstown. She likes reading and watching movies.

Elizabeth Kramer, 15, will be a sophomore at North Hagerstown High School. She is absolutely a chocoholic.

Emily Nelson, 13, is a freshman at St. Maria Goretti High School. She is a music fanatic.

Erica Colliflower, 18, is a freshman at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, this fall. She’s an introvert who believes that the world can be changed one thought at a time.

Erica L. Syverson, 16, is a senior at North Hagerstown High School. Though she is an aspiring novelist, she hopes one day to get paid to sleep.

Fedora Copley, 15, is a sophomore at North Hagerstown High School. She’s getting more comfortable walking up to strangers and starting a conversation.

Jessi Fulton, 12, is a seventh-grader at Montessori Academy in Chambersburg, Pa.

Jessica Taylor, 12, loves to read and play online computer games. She thinks that you really are what you eat.

Kacey Keith, 13, is an eighth grader at E. Russell Hicks Middle School in the fall. She is an aspiring designer and self-proclaimed DIY dork.

Laura Bell, 15, is a sophomore at North Hagerstown High School. She likes movies that explore characters’ inner lives and conflicted motivations.

Lizi Colliflower, 16, is a home-schooler from Falling Waters, W.Va. She has a passion for drawing and painting images of people.

Lydia Hadfield, 17, relishes fiction, show biz, and the absurd. She is attending Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., this fall.

Matt Newton, 18, graduated from Washington CountyTechnical High School this year. He plots world domination on a weekly basis at his Web site, www.comicblasphemy.com.

Nabela Enam, 17, is a senior at St. Maria Goretti High School. She loved her trip to Europe in summer 2007 and is anxious about college applications.

Robert Keller, 15, is a sophomore at North Hagerstown High School. He loves playing in the NHHS band and has made friends with students of all ages.

Ryan Willard, 17, lives in Sharpsburg and graduated from Boonsboro High School this year. He thinks that dying is natural, but tragic; but using someone’s death for personal gain is abhorent.

Sally Newlin, 15, is a junior at North Hagerstown High School. She wishes people would understand that Japanese manga is not printed backward.

Sara Martens, 16, is a junior at Smithsburg High School. She is a self-proclaimed Harry Potter fanatic and proud of it.

Sean Clark, 15, is a junior at Boonsboro High School. He ranks, according to some, among the top 10 best “Halo” players in the area.

Shoval Resnick, 17,is a senior at South Hagerstown High School. She has a passion for science which can not be completely disregarded, even when she’s just reading for pleasure.

Hannah Tussing, 14, is a home-schooler living in Hagerstown. She loves books about horses almost as much as she loves horses.

Zach Tussing, 11, is a home-schooler living in Hagerstown. He likes to read, and he loves watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Saturday morning.
